One of the tallest riders on the team, Robert is a former hockey goalkeeper who dreamed about playing in the NHL. One summer he started riding his bike to improve his condition, and a year later he was enjoying riding so much that he stopped playing hockey and invested his time in chasing his new dream: becoming a professional cyclist.

Robert will have an important role in the development team as a road captain. He has already gained significant experience throughout his years of racing and has a good view of how races unfold; he can make a well-thought-out decision in a split second.

Through talks with the team’s coaches and other riders on the WorldTour team he will be aiming to develop further in the role of team captain this coming season. By following dedicated training schedules, he hopes to make another step up and join the WorldTour team in 2015. His biggest dream in cycling is to win one of his favorite races: the Tour of Flanders or Paris-Roubaix.
