WCH KING PETTER NORTHUG (NOR) AND THE SUCCESSFUL TALLY IN YELLOW

The Midas touch: with three gold medals in three races at the World Championships in Liberec (CZE), Petter Northug (NOR) swept the board in style. The triple World Champion was the star of the extremely successful Fischer Nordic Racing Team, which won over half of the medals awarded at the Championships. With 17 gold, 14 silver and 23 bronze medals, Fischer once again demonstrated its supremacy as the most successful ski brand in the Nordic sector.

After gold in the Pursuit and Relay, Petter Northug went on to take the World Championship title in the subsequent 50 km race and crown himself the WCH King and the most successful athlete of the World Championships. However, it was not only the achievements themselves, it was also the way in which the Norwegian superstar clinched victory with his awesome sprint power that impressed the cross country ski world.

Justyna Kowalczyk – best woman on the Fischer Team

In the ladies' competitions, Justyna Kowalczyk (POL) likewise won three medals, making her the most successful woman among the Fischer athletes. Following gold in the Pursuit and bronze in the 10 km Classic, the exceptional Polish athlete went on to win a second gold in the final race, the 30 km Freestyle.

Ola Vigen Hattestad – the fastest cross country skier in the world

The fastest man at the Nordic World Ski Championships was not only successful with Fischer skis, he also counted on the yellow boots from Upper Austria. Ola Vigen Hattestad (NOR) was unbeatable in the two Sprint disciplines, taking the WCH title in both the Sprint and the Team Sprint in impressive style. His brand colleagues with Fischer boots picked up 18 medals in total – more than ever before.
